Custom Painting by SixAndEightStringer Get a trick airbrushed paint job!
I've done several custom paint jobs for those who are "artistically disinclined." I specialize in interesting and original paint jobs; if you're looking for a replica of your favorite driver's stock car, I'm not your man. Please see below for some samples of my work. Due to time constraints, I'm temporarily unable to take on commissions for custom paint work. Please check back soon!
Electrifying Mazda Here's a body I painted specifically to sell on eBay -- it's a cool Mazda Millennia with a lightning scheme. It fades from a beautiful pearl purple down to a sunset purplish pink, and has several Mazda logos; the two on the rear fenders fade from orange to pink, as does the Mazda name on the hood. Plus, it features the graphic logo done in color change (gray to purple) which came out really sweet! Sure, it's a little "loud" - but lots of people like their cars to stand out...
Marauder Alfa This pirate-themed car looks wicked with its blood-red (fading to black) main color. But what really sets it apart is the pirate flag on the side, done in carbon fiber (paint - not sticker!) and the buccaneer sword on the hood with the disappearing (color-change) bloodstain. An original concept which came out just as I imagined!
THIS BODY IS FOR SALE! Please contact me for information.
Paint Splash Lambo It was time for the HPI Challenge, so I needed a couple bodies for the event. For my Micro, I painted this wicked Lamborghini Murciélago with a paint splash theme. I figured it would be striking to use the flourescent raspbery over the yellow, and I speckled the yellow for good measure. Also note the shadowing and light specks on the "blobs." My best micro paint job yet!
Lightning Eclipse Another HPI Challenge body (shown here on a borrowed Pro3), I went back to my lightning technique to produce a strong, impactful look. I also faded the midnight blue down to a beautiful pearl purple. And for good measure, I put a "tribal" design on each side, in flourescent colors to make them stand out. Should grab the attention of the other racers!
Fluorescent XXX-R I needed the body for my new "XXX-R" (XXX-S Rally Conversion) to be really striking, and I think this does the trick. After modifying the XXX-S logo to reflect the new model, I cut it in vinyl and masked it out. With fluorescent colors and a clean paint job, the car makes a definite statement - it's one of a kind!
Bekins Truck For many years, my family has had a running joke involving Bekins trucks, so when our race club started racing Euro Trucks, it was obvious what scheme I'd have to paint for mine. The "Bekins" lettering was done with hand-cut liquid mask, and the green was custom-mixed to get just the right shade. It's one of the best looking trucks on the track, and one of the fastest, too!
Calvin & Hobbes When my teammate Brian (aka Bill Carson) asked for an obnoxious C&H theme - but gave me free reign - I guess he didn't know what he was in for. He was expecting a simple outline sketch, but I went all out with full color comic art - one on the hood, and one on each side of the car. All characters were done with hand-cut liquid mask and custom color mixes. The pearlescent teal works really well with the bold colors of the comics.
Graphic Tiger This was a "test" paint job that came out a lot better than I thought it would. Another experiment with paint transfers, this one came out really sweet. It was also a trial for a new color method; I sprayed a medium coat of pearl white and backed it with brown, and got a really cool deep brownish pearly silver color - hard to explain, but looks killer up close. I'm looking forward to trying this technique with other colors.
Quickie fade What do you do when you need a body painted pronto? A quick fade job - no masks required. Not real complex, and not necessarily my best work - but it may qualify as the quickest turnaround for a paintjob I've ever done... And the client loved the custom orange color I mixed.
Micro TigerTeam 911 This is my car, my first micro - the SixFootTiger Team decided that this might make a cool team scheme for an upcoming team micro enduro-race (with different stripe colors for different drivers.) I figured that the green would make a very striking contrast to the team orange, and I was right. Should be easy to find my car on the track!
Silver Ghosted Design Ferrari Another commissioned job, the customer actually wanted a fairly simple silver one-color job - but mentioned that if I wanted to do some fancy purple designs on the side, he would be interested to see what I could come up with. So I gave him both! The "ghosted" design on the side is done with color-swap paint, so in certain light, there is a purple design on the side - in other light, it completely disappears. I'm hoping that this will be what he was hoping for!
X-Ray Porsche This is a custom job for someone who commissioned the job after finding this page on the net. He had some specific ideas, and also deferred to me on a few details. He chose the colors and the basic design, and I think it's quite striking. Hope he finds that it is everything he expected! Thanks for the opportunity!
Tiger Trio Another experiment with "paint transfers." Here's a trio of tigers on an Alfa, and they look pretty ticked. I'll be personally racing this body. I really rather like the scheme. The orange and black is quite striking, and I'm really digging the horizontal fades I've done recently.
Dragon My first use of paint "transfers." It's a "decal" of sorts that melts into the paint when the car is fully painted. Kagemusha helped pick out the colors on this car, and they were a good choice! I sold this body, a Mazda Millennia, on eBay. Hope its new owner takes good care of it - I don't think I'd want to anger this dragon...
Torn Fiber Focus I did this one for teammate and friend Scott (Nudlboy.) I wanted to try out the Carbon fiber look, and I thought it would look cool to have the paint "peeling away" to reveal the carbon fiber beneath it. Both Scott and I really dig how it came out. The color choice on this was also excellent, with a horizontal fade. Overall, a very slick looking body!
Flaming Falcon Ahh... my new rally body has arrived. The Ford Falcon from Frewer (say that five times fast!) looks slick and nobody else at my tracks will have one. I used a cool vinyl sticker as a mask, and along with some liquid mask and freehand work on the flames, it came out pretty well. The pictures don't show the pearlescent/Faschange blue in the main body color (over silver.) Hope this body drives as well as it looks!
Tom's Lightning Stratus Nice, clean lines on the dual colors (pearl white and deep blue) would have made a classy enough paint job, but for some excitement you need lightning bolts! This car was painted for Second Story drummer, Tom, who has recently joined bandmates (and SixFootTiger teammates) SixAndEightStringer and FootFall at the SJCCR Racetrack!
Blue SixFootTiger Scheme Footfall's new Volvo needed some paint, and he asked for something with the tiger logo. He also wanted something in a subtle but cool blue theme. Here's the result. The tiger on the hood is the 6FT logo, and the Faschange Blue "ghosted" figure behind it is the Chinese symbol for "Tiger."
TigerTruck My newest body for my XXX-T/MF truck is a cool retro Chevy by McAllister - I did it in a sleek color-change paint (purple to green to orange to gold) and used chrome to accent the grille and rollbars. It's also the first car to sport the official SixFootTiger logo... I did that in chrome and black on the back slope (click picture to the right to see detail.) Sweet!
Splashy 300M Did this one as an experiment at TigeRyan's house a couple months back; it's a paint job that is simulating being "blown off" the car - the bright pink is the underside of the rest of the car's raspberry color, and the silver is the bare metal beneath. I did some shadowing on the paint splashes, and this one looks pretty good close up. Easy to find on the track, too!
The "Killer BEEtle" This one is one of my personal cars; I race this in our Beetle Spec Class. Simple, striking, clean and effective. This car not only looked great, it drove fast, taking me to a second-place finish overall in the Beetle Cup points series.
Purple Congo NSX With a cool jungle theme and deep purple paints, this car never failed to make an impression at the racetrack. This is one of the first cars I ever painted. It belongs to my teammate FootFall. FootFall raced this car for a while until he racked it up real good.
BassDude I wanted to do a bass player theme to combine my interests - this little guy on the hood of a Jetta was the result. 9 liquid masked and airbrushed colors later, anyway. It was an ambtious project, and I think it came out very well.
Torn Alfa Striking yellow paint is interrupted with a series of tears, revealing a two-tone (purple and teal) paint beneath. Made this one up on the fly, and was really happy with it. In my first indoor season, I raced it for a while myself, until my frequent crashing... uh... "retired" it.
Dark Rider 206 Somewhat influenced by the "Lord of the Rings" books (before the movie came out,) I created this dark rider theme based upon the Ringwraiths. A soulless skull shape adorns the hood, and the wispy flames cover the roof. Even more flames decorate the sides. What's more, the paint is a prismatic, changing from coppery brown to green, depending on the light.
Black Merc This one got a few whistles first time out at the track; the pictures don't fully show the depth of the black. When teammate FootFall asked for a new car, but one with some darker colors, I presented him with this fusion of gloss black, blood red and chrome. Needless to say, he was very happy with it.
Tribal TT One of my first paint jobs, this Audi TT looked great (but drove like doodoo.) "Tribal" markings in glittery silver made this car stand out at the track - at least, when it wasn't on its roof. Hey, it was my first season!
Bright Viper The first paint job I ever did with the intention to sell it on eBay. A fairly simple 2-color scheme intended to enhance some of the bold lines of the Viper's design, it came out well and fetched a respectable price. Nothing too fancy, but looks great on a chassis!
