If sticking to the NASTruck body means the class continues to grow and gain interest then that may be something we should look at....or I had a wacky thought but not sure if we would want to go there....

Make ANY body that has ever been run in the SJCCR spec class legal, IE: Beetle Cup, EuroTruck, NASTruck and now that we have nominated it, HPI Porsche GT1, this way we can keep adding new bodies, but if someone wants to run a 2-3 year old body they can.....Any thoughts / comments on this idea????

That's what I love about you guys.....being flexible and coming up with alternative solutions.....:)

Personally, I think running the same body style has an overall better appeal to spectators and/or future racers....

Just a question though, has anyone went out and bought the HPI Porsche yet???

If not, might not be to hard to reconsider going back to NASTruck

Just a thought....We still have six weeks till opening day.

HPI Porsche GT1 bodies are available. And I have a couple extras if needed. I already have mine painted up!

I wish everybody had spoken up before we selected a body. I went out and bought the Porsche body. Had people said let's run last years Nas truck body I would have said OK. I never used mine.

We were following the path we have always taken which has been a new body each year....and we haven't decided to make the switch back either, I'd like to get some of the other Spec-competitors to chime in.....

If we decide not to use the Porsche body will it be legal in other classes?

I plan to run the Spec class either myself(2nd class) or for my nephew, with my primary class to be mod TC on rubber.

I'll run whichever body is legal, don't really care.

BTW... is there a linkage to a page where the 2005 Spec class "rules" are?
I've followed some of the threads, etc. but don't feel like digging.
If someone can lemme know it'd be gr8

Thanks!

Ok, lets get this done quickly....And Jim if you have your body, save it for the challenge... :) (boy that worked out well)

Lets just get a quick all in favor of staying NASTruck....mine is still in very runable condition so I really dont mind either....

Marc,

Didn't ignore just had to look for them:

http://www.sixfoottiger.com/documents/E ... kRules.PDF

Edits:
1. Motor springs are now open
2. Gear Ratio is now 7.0
3. Fastest Lap bonus is no longer issued
4. The rewards penalty is no longer 2 races in a row it is now win any two races and you are issued the penalty

I will make the appropriate edits tomorrow on lunch and post an updated file.

OK, now you've done it... I'll run a race or two in the Spec Series to keep you guys honest. Since we're sticking with the Nastruck theme, may I keep my #23??? (I don't plan on painting another body, but might be entering a different chassis... 8))

Ok, if you have been keeping up with the threads going on, we have been going back and forth on the bodies....

But in the interest of keeping the class alive and well we will be repeating the 2004 body style for the SJCCR Spec Class: NASTRUCK --- Now we will give a mulligan on teh numbering so people can re-use their bodies from last year as well....IE: I finished 3rd last year, but have the #4 truck, I plan to run that body again....Please let anyone you know who doesnt read too often that we are doing this....
