Okay, I've updated the post with the FINAL STANDINGS!

Some notez...

The class was a little lighter this year, attendance-wise... but quite frankly, overall race attendance has seemed a bit light, so this makes some sense. I will stress to aspiring and new racers - THIS IS THE CLASS that will help make you a better driver! With a much closer matched field, you're spending less time trying to let the fast guys pass every two laps, and spending more time actually learning how to drive. It's a real "any given Sunday" deal, too - with cars that are spec'd like these are, it's not hard to have a competitive car.

That said, it's hard to not make note of the fact that I pretty handily ran away with the class this year. The maximum points total possible was 990, once you figured in the double-points race and the drops... my score this year was 985 (Chris Green got the TQ on one race I didn't drop). I think that this domination of the class warrants that I step down from the class, so consider this my official retirement from the Spec Class (as a driver.) I will continue to promote and administer the class, and I really want to see it continue to grow - because I truly feel that it is the training ground for up-and-coming racers. Perhaps I'll even convince Ray to let me take the mic and call the races for Spec Class next season.

Let me congratulate fellow Six Foot Tiger Team Members Chris Green (DodgeBoy) and Tom Bardsley (DrumHunt) for their 2nd and 3rd place finishes, respectively - another 6FT 1-2-3 finish goes in the books. But big props go out to Alin Achim, a new racer this season - and a youngster - who logged enough races to pull a 4th place series finish! Right behind him in a tie for 5th is another pre-teen in Troy Ellis, who tied with Big Jim Mayhew (Team Mayhem) for the fifth spot.

Again, please be sure to stay tuned next season - we'd like to see this class flourish, because it's the class to be in if you want to improve your skillz. See you next year (and who knows what body we'll be using!!!!!) :P
