yeah it seems 2005 really bites.

bad enough i lost interest in paying to race, but really liked rally alot. then it disappears this year. why? oh, i know it was at the hpi challenge, but i had a family thing, so i missed that.

of all the tracks in SJ, not one will run rally anymore?

im hoping for next year to have a rally comeback. it was i nice points series, that winter pottbellies race again would be cool too.

the biggest reason?? In my opinion is that NONE of the manufacturers support a rally chassis anymore...I mean Tamiya still produces rally bodies and kits, but they are all of the on-road variety...They also came out with a RA kit - that had more clearance, knobby tires - but it still wasn't on par with the HPI, AE, or Losi....

So factor all that in, add in weakening part support and you have the makings of a dieing class...

Yea, it does suck...but who knows, give it some time and it may make a comeback...

It's not just around here, either - Jim Mayhew and I were lamenting that the big-time rally turnout up at Barnstormers (35-40 cars for their special rally events) has faded to nothing...

I'd like to see a rally resurgence myself.

I've submitted a proposal for Subaru to sponsor a rally series. I'm just waiting for their reply. I've got 6 HPI rally cars in my stable so that I can have a parts supply. Although their rally chassis shares alot of parts with the Pro and Sport chassis.

jim said " rally at my track hint hint"

well that still requires me to work on it. i lost interest in keeping it up. i'd like to work on it again whenever i have time though.

yeah with no chassis making support, i can see why no one would run.

who says SJCCR can't design their own? (hint hint mark on the xxxr) really all we need to do is manufacture "some" parts, like arms, shock towers, and may other things.

I think the EASIEST / MOST AVAILABLE rally chassis is the TC3, there are literally HUNDREDS on them available, the arms, cvd bones, turnbuckles and shock shafts are all readily available still so really it is just a matter of people putting the cars together....

The hardest part to find for the HPI rally is the main chassis plate, I know a couple of guys who are / were looking for them

Just trying to see how many people still have rally cars and who might be interested in an all rally event in February or March. Please post so I can see if this is feasable!!
