Prime, truely glad you and "cuz" could make it and just in time before you had to go back to school. Yes, it did go smoothly. It had to do with the format I had set up, a competent race director, no computer glitches (pure luck) and cooperation of the racers themselves. Yeah, I know all about the "spur gear blues", I had them too. Guess I shouda' had my "spur checked", huh??

Stay tuned to these threads, from time to time I do these things through out the winter if you are in the area.

Heah, wheres the video!!!!

WINTER????  :P :P I think I'm already getting excited....Although I'm not sure about the # of entries :-P when I was still living in korea 10 years ago, they ran (and still do) all throughout the year, including the snowy winter.

I hate to say this but my videos are going to be disappointing :( it was my first time ever w/ a camcorder, and most of them were shot from the tripod because I had to work on my own car. I'll try to edit them to the best of my abilities and post them here.

Off topic, but is any nitro touring crew looking to race somewhere this weekend? It'll be my last weekend before going back to college, and with Blue Diamond track closed for this weekend, I'm considering several places but want to go where there will be at least 5+ entries.

Finally, I have the time to try to post some of my thoughts.

This day was so enjoyable I am not sure of where to start. I want to thank all who came out including their family members (extremely important in my book), to partake in what my vision of a race day should be. I think the quote of the day came from a racer I had not seen in probably 5 years. Tom Billington said " I think I died and went to RC heaven, this place is not believeable". Yes it certainly was not believeable if you consider all these people came out to race with no rewards whatsoever. The guy that finished 1st in the A main got the same reward as the guy who was last in the D main. But they all came away with the feeling of a fulfilled feeling that the money they spent was beyond being well worth it, because they truely had fun!!!!!!!! And isn't that the reason we all started playing with these model cars????

Sal Amato, Warren Weaver, Jaime,,,,thanks for attending and bringing all your peeps down to take in what may have been the event of the summer for us.

All my locals, Scoooooooooby, Quinn, Ernie, Ed, , DuWan, Will, Derrick, D Lee, Derrick, etc ( I know I missed many honarable mentions), I could not have asked for more of a hospitable atmosphere from you and you all delivered, thanks.

John, based on the amount of people blocking my vision of the track form my pit area with burgers, drinks and other "eats", I would say the food thing was pretty sucessful, huh?

Paul, I don't know how you do it,,,,,,,,,,,thanks, because I would not have wanted to do it.

I also thought the 50/50 thing was fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My event, my rules, and my wife wins,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what's up wit dat!!!!!!! Funny though, I have not seen any of that $$$$, think she might have stopped off at the mall to spend it on the way home.

Thanks to Ghettoteacher and Mike Ivy for honoring my request to help the exposure of the facility by spending the day taking pictures and posting them. These guys could just have easily been racing, but opted to perform this community service for me,,,,,,,,,,,,,actually for all of us!

More to come.

Earlier I reported to you all that we produced 69 entries. After reviewing and counting on my fingers I came up with 62. Don't know why, the race director and his assistant told me it was 69, maybe they pulled names of some who dropped out of the event. Anyway, those that attended still appeared to enjoy their time at the event.

One of the things I found very refreshing was that there were many names of entrants that I had never seen before and never at the G Force race track. This is an indication the word is starting to spread far and wide of what the Blue Diamond facility has to offer.

Both the 1/8th and 1/10th nitro touring classes had large increases in participation. Nitro touring actually had 4 heats of qualifying and 1/8th had 2. Electric touring had 2 heats. These are significant numbers.

The results in one class show "monster truck". That actually, was my "RWB" (run watcha' brung) class. This class was the highlight of the day for me. If my memory serves me correctly we had a 1/8th nitro truggy, several 1/18th nitro monster trucks, 3 or 4 1/18th micro trucks, a vintage 1980's 1/10th 6 cell pan car (driven by me), a 1/10th 4 cell oval pan car and a 1/12th 4 cell pan car. What a diversified collection of vehicles. It'll never work,,,,,right???? Well, it's not supposed to work,,,,,,but, it's supposed to be entertaining. And it was, for both drivers and especially for spectators. The funniest part was when I found my car being utilized as a jumping ramp on the starting grid by the little micro trucks. The GTP body I was running was at the perfect angle for the pesky little buggars to ride up the front, throttle up and over the back of my car. It actually looked like a "conga line" of cars as they lined up to take their turn. Well, I ended that when I stepped on the gas with one on the roof of my car and balanced it almost all the way down the front straight!!!! Ironically, the guy who out distanced or is it survived, that class was none other then Troy Kosinski with his 1/12th 4 cell pan car.

Congrats to all the winners Troy (Mike Ivy qualified the car, when they changed drivers in "mid stream", My self in electric touring with a Ivy prepared ole' skol' Xray car, Drew Cat in 1/18th. First time at our track. Jaime Corrado, also first time at our track.

I could go on and on (like I have not already done that,,,,,right?), but in closing I have one request. There were many people who attended and I made a request for all to post on these threads their thoughts from the day. Many of you have, many have not. This is not for the facility to gather compliments, is is so we can figure out how we can better serve you!!!!
If you know anyone who has not posted here, please contact them and have them post or PM me. This is more like a survey, our report card so to speak. A number of you have already posted suggestions (pelico, Drew Car, Paulie Bee), so anyone who has not please do so. We can't read minds, want something,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tell us and we'll see what we can do.

Also, for those of you who are not familiar, be on the lookout for more of events like this that I do.

That's right, you heard it here first. I am in the "supply and demand" business, you guys have the demand for pure fun before competition. And I have a huge supply of just the right events to fit those needs.

After the event at Jackson RC I took a survey and the vote was to try to do it just one more time before we do the usual "rc hibernation" for the winter.

Location; Blue Diamond amusement park on the spectacular G Force Hobbies on road track. 765 Hamburg Road New Castle Delaware 19720. Contact phone # 1-302-995-9035.

Date; Sunday October 14th. Yes, only one day event. Rain date Sunday October 21st.

Basic "proposed" classes will be;

1/8th nitro onroad.
1/10th nitro touring car on road.
1/10th electric touring on road.
1/12th electric pan 4 cell on road.
And the ever increasing in popularity RWB (run whatcha' brung)
All classes will get 3 rounds of qualifying and 1 main event. All qualifying heats will be 5 minutes in length. All nitro mains will have "bump ups", one driver minimum. Nitro mains will be extended, I am looking for 15 minutes, but the time will be an event day decision.

Entry fee: 1st class $15, 2nd class $12. 3rd class $10.

Gates will open at 7am. Track should be ready for practice by 8:30am and will be open for practice until 10:30am. Drivers meeting will commence at 10:30am promptly. All drivers absolutely must attend the drivers meeting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,no exceptions!!!!!! (I am giving you your personal invite, Scooby) Drivers meeting should be concluded by 10:45am at which point the qualifying heats will be posted. First qualifying heat will roll off at 11am.

Remember guys, I do not consider these events "races". They are just my little parties to which I invite some of my rc buds. So if you are planning to attend I expect you to post your intentions here on these threads, pm me or call me by tele so I can put you on the "A list" so anyone thinking of coming will know who will be in attendance. If I can take the time to put out the invite to all of you, the least you can do is let me know you are interested in attending,,,,,,,,,,,,,,seems fair to me!

After the last event we did at Blue Diamond Paul Dolnick released a G Force Hobbies newsletter that reported of the events activities for the day. I will attempt to have him post it here, I think it would be beneficial.

Welp, that's the basic info. More to come as we put all the pieces of the puzzle together. Remember, we need more involved in our hobby so make sure to bring a friend, neighbor, relative, a local neighborhood kid, mom, dad, etc;

Clear your plate for the day. Make your plans. You don't want to miss this one!!!!!

Hi guys,

just figured I would post this to reinforce what I believe most of you know, but may not.

The class was initially made for newbies, moderately skilled drivers and/or drivers who did not feel comfortable running in the traditionally more compeitive classes. This would also include the usage of vehicles that did not fall into the on road catagories most on road tracks run. But, I feel that including most any vehicle just adds to the interest and fun because the wide array of vehicles on the market and the different sizes and speeds would make for an entertaining time for both spectators and participants alike. Race,,,,,,,,,I am not sure when this class is on the track it is a race. Sometimes it's like "rc dodgeball", other times it's like "rc survival of the fittest", other times it's like "rc smackdown"

Those who chose to run in this class understand basically it's just an opportunity to run your model vehicle against others, the finishing position is not an important aspect. Just marvel at all the different vehicles and try to turn as many laps as you can with all the moving obstacles

At this point, be aware, the only vehicles banned are 1/8th buggies. John indicated they are too hard on the track barriers. If any of you are in doubt as to whether or not your vehicle is allowed to run, post your question on this thread or pm me.

I look forward to seeing ya'll and all the weird vehicles on the 14th.
